Replace Faulty Tie Rod Linkages

CMA's Colonial Nissan understands your desire for top-quality parts to keep your vehicle in excellent condition. Tie rod linkages are the adjustable steering connections that transfer steering input from the rack or gearbox to the wheel assemblies. These components allow wheels to pivot for steering while accommodating suspension movement during driving. Properly functioning tie rods provide precise steering response and maintain correct wheel alignment. We stock genuine Nissan tie rod assemblies with exact thread specifications and ball joint designs for your steering system.

What Tie Rod Linkages Accomplish

Tie rod assemblies consist of inner and outer sections connected by adjustable threads that allow alignment adjustments. Ball joints at each end permit angular movement as the suspension travels up and down. When you turn the steering wheel, the rack or gearbox pushes or pulls the tie rods, which transfer this motion to the steering knuckles. This action pivots the wheels left or right for directional control. Your Murano and Titan both require tie rods with specific lengths and ball joint angles matched to their suspension geometry. Genuine Nissan tie rods use precision ball joints with proper preload and protective boots that seal out contaminants.

How Tie Rod Linkages Deteriorate

Tie rod ball joints wear out from constant pivoting motion under steering loads and suspension forces. Protective boots tear from age and road debris exposure, allowing dirt and moisture to contaminate the joint. Corrosion develops inside damaged joints, causing binding and uneven wear. Impact damage from curb strikes or severe potholes can bend tie rod shafts. Aftermarket tie rods often use inferior ball joint designs that wear quickly and develop excessive play. Generic replacements may have incorrect thread pitches that prevent proper alignment adjustment.

Identifying Tie Rod Problems

Replace tie rods when steering feels loose or vague with excessive play in the wheel. Clunking noises during turning or over bumps indicate worn ball joints. Uneven or rapid tire wear suggests alignment problems from worn tie rods. If your vehicle pulls to one side or the steering wheel sits off-center, tie rod inspection is necessary. Torn protective boots require immediate replacement before joint contamination causes failure. Don't let vehicle issues hold you back – get back to your adventures with CMA's Colonial Nissan's genuine components.
